Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Rawi ("the app", "we", "us"), an app for exploring the Quran operated by Codexia. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What Rawi Does

Rawi offers narrated stories of the prophets and peoples of the Quran, the full text of the Quran with translations and recitation, and an AI companion ("Rawi AI") that answers your questions about Quranic themes. Some content and features are available for free, and others require a subscription.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Rawi. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. Religious Content Disclaimer

Rawi is intended to help you learn about and reflect on the Quran. Please understand the following:

  • Translations are interpretations of meaning and may differ from other translations. They are provided to aid understanding and are not a substitute for the original Arabic text.
  • Stories are presented in a narrative form for reflection and education; they are not a scholarly or exhaustive account.
  • Rawi is an independent app and is not affiliated with any religious authority or institution.
  • For questions of religious ruling or practice, please consult a qualified scholar.

4. AI Responses Are Not Rulings

Rawi AI is powered by artificial intelligence and is provided as a companion for exploration and reflection.

  • AI-generated responses may be incomplete or imperfect and should not be taken as authoritative religious rulings (fatwa) or scholarly opinion.
  • Do not rely solely on Rawi AI for matters of religious practice; consult a qualified scholar for guidance.
  • We make no guarantee as to the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated results.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

Rawi offers an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks the full experience. A free trial may be offered to new subscribers; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not process or store your payment information.
  • You can manage or cancel any time in your device's subscription settings (on iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android: the Play Store).
  • You may restore previous purchases from the app's paywall. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app;
  • Use Rawi AI to generate harmful, hateful, illegal, or infringing content, or to misrepresent its responses as authoritative religious rulings;
  • Abuse or attempt to circumvent subscription mechanisms, usage limits, or trial offers;
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose.

7. Intellectual Property

The app's design, code, narration, artwork, and trademarks are owned by or licensed to the operator, and you may not reproduce or distribute them without prior written consent. Quran text and translations are used to provide the app's features. You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as messages to Rawi AI); you grant us only the limited right to process it to deliver the app's features, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Third-Party Services

Rawi relies on third-party services including Google Gemini (AI responses), Google Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple, Google, and Hark. Your use of the app is also subject to their respective terms and policies.

9. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

  • The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any reliance on AI-generated responses or translations.
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using Rawi at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, illegal activity, or abuse of the service.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
